Dear Representative Ocasio-Cortez,

I am <adjective showing emotion> <by, about, with> your Instagram video because… <Explain why in 2 or 3 more sentences.>

One thing you said that stands out for me is: “<Quote from video.>” I think this is <adjective> because… <add 1 or 2 sentences>

I <do/don’t> <adverb> agree with you that… <paraphrase — summarize in your own words — her argument here.> One reason I say this is… Another reason I <agree/disagree> with you is…

Recently I was looking at videos by young activists, and one of them is a good example of what I’m saying here.

I’m especially inspired by the video by <Name the Youth> because… <Explain exactly why you chose this video to quote here. Was it the issue? Something memorable in a video? A meaningful sentence? Or what? What is it in this video that sparks your interest? Why does it stay with you? How is it a good example of the point you are trying to make with AOC?>

<A sentence or two or perhaps a paragraph from the video should be transcribed here.>

<Citation: Author, (year). Title. Source, pages or URL> <Or use>

This is basically saying <paraphrase the quote, putting it into your own words. Be sure your re-statement is clear, complete, and cogent.>

I’ve also been learning about <explain what Youth in Revolt is all about — for you>. The young protesters that I find most inspiring are the ones who <describe the movement and explain how young people participated at that time, in that place.>

I think this history <is a good example of/supports/makes me wonder about> something you said in your video: “<Copy a sentence or two from AOC’s comments here.>” I <agree/don’t agree> with you here, because…

Thanks for taking the time to read my letter. I look forward to seeing what you do or say next. <add 2 or 3 sentences explaining why you are interested to follow Representative Ocasio-Cortez’s actions and words>.

Finally, I want to share with you another example of youth activism. This video also informs and inspires me!

<Embed a video from YouTube or Vimeo here.>

<Explain what exactly why you chose this video to post here. Was it the issue? Something memorable in a video? A meaningful sentence? Or what? How did this specific source both inspire and inform you?>
