<Write as if you are writing a letter to someone. Describe some of your XP submissions that are linked to your badges. Tell stories about the learning you did while making these artifacts. Explain your achievements to your peers, family members, teachers, principals, counselors, or mentors.>
I am <adjective showing emotion> to be showing you some of my work from <Name of Program or Class>. As you can see below, I was awarded <add a number> of badges over the <add the number of weeks or days> in this <program/class>. After you look at the work linked to each of these badges, I hope you will see why I am <another descriptive adjective> <of/about/by> my accomplishments.
The badges I’m including in this portfolio show something important about me as a learner. To complete the playlists associated with each of these badges, I had to... <Finish this sentence, then freewrite for 5 minutes about some of the skills you developed, the thinking you did, and the creative processes you used to complete the XPs . Explain why these badges matter to you and what you want a teacher, peer, parent, principal, or mentor to understand about you as a learner as represented by the work in this portfolio.>
The badge that I struggled with the most was “<Title of one of your badges>” because… <Complete this sentence, write a two or three more describing what it was that you found to be challenging and who helped you to succeed.> For example, look at <be specific about a piece of evidence that you submitted for an XP> where I <write/draw/put an image/add media… ”<Quote from your writing or describe a part of an image or media.>” Even though this was difficult for me I think it shows my ability to <What specific skill or habit of heart, mind or work does it show?> because… <add 1 or 2 sentences>. If I were to do this again I would… <Explain what you might change.>
Probably my best submission in this portfolio is “<Title of one XP submission >,” which I did while completing the “<Title of a playlist>“ playlist. I say this because… <Add 3 or 4 sentences explaining why and how it shows your ability to do the skills listed in the criteria for this badge.>
Thanks for taking the time to look at the badges and the work linked to each of them in this portfolio. I hope you can see what this work shows about me as a learner.
