When looking at the difference between organic farming and farming GM crops, you first must look at the food output. GM crops have been proven to produce even more than standard methods of farming and for a cheaper price too. The only major advantage organic has in this debate is the quality of the food. But as more and more studies are being conducted on GM crops, we have found they aren’t much worse than normal crops. The only difference is organic is incredibly healthy and blows almost any other form of farming out of the water when it comes to nutrition. The only major disadvantage is the food per acre and the heafty price tag on it.
The next discussion is environmental impact, and when it comes to this there are so many different studies and tests run that it is almost impossible to compare. But from just the 2 documents left below, I would have to say that GM crops (surprisingly) may be much better for the environment than organic because they both get rid of the use of pesticides, but GM crops need less water, don’t require the great soil that some plants might need and by taking up less lad can save land for forest or other things to counteract climate change.
