I read “Five Benefits of Cross-Training.”
https://www.coachmag.co.uk/fitness/7028/five-benefits-of-cross-training
This article is about how crosstraining actually improves your ability to perform in your main sport. While it seems counterproductive to spend time on other activities, crosstraining helps develop one into a better all-around athlete. By doing other things, your body gets the chance to rest as well as develop other muscle groups that then better support and strengthen the common actions of the main sport. It is also beneficial to do more than one thing because it is common for one to become bored of an activity if that is all one does. Especially during times of injury, cross training gives you a chance to get your heart rate up without stressing the same body systems over and over again.
Dear William:
I found your post “Five Benefits of Cross-Training” very interesting. I play multiple sports and each sport contributes to one another. Like how you mentioned in your post, playing multiple sports provides some rest for the mind & body which is extremely important for an athlete.
The sentence, “It is also beneficial to do more than one thing because it is common for one to become bored of an activity if that is all one does.” stood out to me because sports must be fun and there are various ways in reaching this fun. One way is by being involved in other sports.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next because I enjoy learning about sports and how to improve the performance of oneself. Once again, thanks!
