Dear, polar ice caps,

you are cold and white

with your glimmering snow coating your icy earth.

With your polar bears,

narwhals

and reindeer.

They say angry storms

 and sinister global warming

will melt away your beautiful shiny slopes

They say you will no longer exist and your wildlife will diminish.

Don’t worry though Northern caps,

nobody is going to drown in the cold water.

Nobody is going to be left behind.

Nobody is going to resort to violence.

Nobody will forget what has happened

We will save those northern animals

We will clock back on factories and fossil fuels

Everyone is in this right now

Everyone will help as one to solve this problem

Together.

                                                 -Kaleb Wagner

In this assignment, we were asked to write a poem based off of the ‘Fighting For You’ poem. For my poem, I wrote about the northern ice caps. When other people read this poem, I hope they remember what is happening right now in the world and how we need to try and stop it.
