In the article (“Settlement over Trump-Era Family Separations at the Border Limits Future Separations for 8 Years’ ‘) I learned that those who were separated at the border years ago have still not reached compensation for their losses. This is a horrible situation as it shows how irresponsible the United States border officers really are. In the article it is expressed how only 74% of families have been reunited.
I think this shouldnt be a standing issue.Trump has been out of office for 3 years and it is still an issue. Biden promised to solve it but has only revinuted 600 more families. Why is it so hard to get these families back together? DId the border officers lose these kids? What is government housing? I don’t think the government should be separating families for simply crossing the border.
As I continue to learn about border issues, I want to know what efforts government officials are putting towards getting the number up to 100% families reunited.
