Did covid heal nature? The emergence of the CoronaVirus forced everyone indoors and into isolation. This left a weird effect on animals and nature. More and more animals were found venturing into urban areas whilst humans attempted to escape “cabin fever” by spending more time in nature spaces. This not only changed some animals’ habits but was able to help their population. For example Sparrows in San Francisco changed their song and grew in abundance. Animals weren’t the only ones affected. In many cities because of the reduction in traffic and travel the air was much cleaner. As a result “the spring saw a 17%reduction in CO2 emissions.”It may be a step in the right direction, but a few months of healing isn’t enough to reverse all the human effects.
