Series NavigationRecording a Passage from Othello >>Othello Close Reading >>
I chose to read from the Shakespeare play, Othello. My passage comes from Act 1 scene 3, lines 208-218 and it is said by the character Desdemona. Depending on the tone, inflection, volume and pacing of how the passage is read, the meaning can vary much more than I realized. After studying this passage and doing this reading I have come to understand the great level of respect Desdemona has for her father and Othello.
