Creatures are always and always competing. The tigers, wolves, and lions compete to take over their territory for hunting. The big fish eats the small fish, and the small fish eat the smaller fish. Human is also competitive kind. Folks compete in many ways: fighting, racing, positioning in companies, etc. I’m a competitor too. Let me tell you a story about how I changed my school life.
During Covid-19, Vietnamese education changed to prevent the plague from spreading, so I didn’t have to take the placement test to get into my high school. Instead of taking the test, I had to send my school stats and profile to the school I want. And guess what, I was accepted, and it was a good school. After Covid-19, I came back to school.
The school was really big, bigger than my old school, and it was also more beautiful. I walked into my class, and holy shit, a guy was wearing the shoes I liked, they were around $500, Nike AF1 G-Dragon Version. Damnnnn! Then I started looking around: GM glasses, Rayban, expensive hoodie, there was also a guy wearing a gold bracelet. This class was full of rich kids. Before I came to school, I just know that my class monitor, An lives in the famous night market town called Ho Thi Ky in district 10. I thought she was the only rich kid in the class but no, 90% of my classmates had rich, successful parents.
My family wasn’t rich (like in the middle class, not rich but not poor). When I was in the class, I felt like I was a small David surrounded by Goliaths born at the finish line of life. Jeez, but in the end, I think it was a good thing. I learned a lot from these fellas, about how they think, fashion, what rich folks do, etc. It was a better environment than my secondary school. My dad believes environment has a strong impact on our life. I believe this to be true.
But that just the beginning, now I’m in the US, the country that has the most Colossuses, swimming in money. I will try to study, study, and study to be one of them one day.
