You may have thought I didn’t see,
Or that I haven’t listened
to your problems or lectures you’ve taught me over the weeks, months, and years,
But I understood every rant and word.
Perhaps you’ve thought I fumbled it all,
And that we’d grow apart,
But Starr, I picked up everything,
It’s written on my heart and on my arm.
Without you, Starr, I wouldn’t be
the person nor the father I am today;
you built a strong foundation
no one can break.
not even your mother or brothers, okay maybe your uncle or that white boy but that’s besides the point.
I know you or the family aren’t happy with everything I’ve done in my past, shit nor am I. But hopefully I can make a change and made the best changes I’ve already done.
I would take back all the pain and suffering you your mother and brothers felt only if I could.
I know that I’m not perfect neither are you.
it’s the best that I can do,
but every day I thank the black Jesus
for a daughter as special as you.
I love you Starr.

This was very beautiful and I really liked the line where you stated ”
I know you or the family aren’t happy with everything I’ve done in my past, shit nor am I. But hopefully I can make a change and made the best changes I’ve already done.” It is really important to make a difference or change. This was a beautiful piece of writing.
