The Return of Containment: How the West Can Prevail Against the Kremlin

This article was about developing a new strategy for containing Russia and cutting them off from the West. It talked about how we need to deploy more NATO troops to the East, to protect those vulnerable nations, and how we must convince China to distance itself from Russia. It also talked about how we must step up our military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

The Kremlin’s Strange Victory: How Putin Exploits American Dysfunction and Fuels American Decline

This was a fascinating article I read in Foreign Affairs. It talks about the similarities in leadership styles between Putin and Trump. It also talks about how Trump looked up to strongman leaders and believed their narratives more than NATO or international organizations’ reports. It also briefly touches on the controversy of potential Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Staying Safe during Halloween

In the article, “COVID Trick-or-Treating Safely” I learned that trick-or-treating is pretty much safe now because there are more people getting vaccinated. Although there are still many children under the age of 12 that have not got vaccinated, Dr. Anthony Fauci has said that it is still safe for these children. It is still recommended that all of this happens outside. For example, people should only be attending outside events and in a small group. You should also still be wearing a mask and using hand sanitizer frequently.

How were you able to stay safe this Halloween?

Quarenting candy before eating it isn’t really necessary. Another way that you can stay safe is my arranging the candy rather than having the children dig into a bowl. In my opinion, I believe that by following these guidelines, there wouldn’t be anyone getting sick. For this reason, we will be able to keep going to future events.

How to write a top-notch response to a post

You just read someone’s post and you think, “Wow! I think that’s great!” You can respond! Authors love to converse with their readers, and it feels good to know that the things you write mean something to others.

Here are a few tips to writing a response that might start a conversation:

*Tell the author how their post made you feel

*Tell the author about something similar in your life or way of thinking

*Acknowledge something the author said particularly well or that use a good rhetorical strategy (evidence, ethos, pathos, imagery, allusions, etc)

*Ask a question

*Add an idea of your own that connects to what the author posted

If you write your response as if you were sitting across from the author, the words will be genuine and totally YOU. Use 150 -200 words to make your statement and invite the author or other readers to respond. Conversations are great places to learn about others and build community.

Where is Margo

“Paper Towns” by John Green has surprised me so many times from the beginning, to the adventure between Margo and Quentin, to the payback, Sea world, Quentin standing up, And Margo being missing, It’s just that a lot has happened in these first few chapters. It just surprises me.

The second part of “Paper Towns”  by John Green might leave a reader feeling surprised because Quentin stood up; he didn’t just stay quiet and that shows a big character development because he’s usually the quiet kid. And where did Margo go like what is going on? An example of this is on page 94.  “Margo left often enough that there weren’t any find Margo rallies at school or anything” This is weird because she’s been gone for a while and no one is wondering where she went like i get its normal for her but shouldn’t someone know

So far, the characters in “Paper Towns” might remind a reader of the story in another book. In “Wake” what I find similar is that the boy Cable in the book reminds me of Quentin a bit. They are both that quiet kid no one knows that much about.

After this part of the book, most readers probably will be looking forward to reading the rest of this book because I don’t know about you but I really want to know where Margo went and what’s going to happen. What’s probably going to happen next is they realize Margo is missing and people will start worrying especially Quentin.

The War in Yemen

This question makes me confused because it concerns us. What I think I already know is that my country continues the war for five years, but we want to end this tragic war that has destroyed the country and the people. What I knew about my country before the war: It was a stable country and people and they were tourists from all countries But what I know about the cause of the war in my country  because of political issues between the officials of the country and the entry of armed members of a group called Houthi and the beginning of the conflict between them over who will rule the country.

First, I want to know the cause of the war in Yemen? What is the conflict between Saudi and Yemen? Why Yemen is poor country? What is the humanitarian crisis in Yemen? Will the day come that the war and crisis in Yemen will end? What state officials should do to end the country’s problems and preserved ? how are the citizens and people suffering in these difficult circumstances in the country? How is education in Yemen in this war and how will the future of students be if the war continues?

I researched _____ and this is what I found:
URL Quotation What I think
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-29319423 The conflict has its roots in the failure of a political transition supposed to bring stability to Yemen following an Arab Spring uprising that forced its longtime authoritarian president, Ali Abdullah Saleh, to hand over power to his deputy, Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi, in 2011. I think the 2011 political coup played a big role because of Yemen’s problems when the people wanted to replace the president, but when power was handed over to the vice president, people thought things would improve in this change but the current president did not succeed in changing anything. This led to the deterioration of the country due to their weakness in front of their opponents
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudi_Arabian-led_intervention_in_Yemen The Saudi-led intervention in Yemen is also called the Arab Alliance (Arab: Arab Alliance) is an invasion launched by Saudi Arabia in 2015, and led an alliance of nine countries from the Middle East and Africa, in response to calls from the world recognized by Yemeni Saudi President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi I think that Saudi Arabia’s intervention has been made worse by the air attacks on Yemen, which led to the destruction, destruction and killing of Yemenis’ blood for five years. This was a mistake from the legitimate president Hadi. From what led to the people’s hatred of President Hadi and his hatred for the coalition Saudi Arabia, and this is why some people who were affected by the coalition and stand with Houthi
https://www.worldbank.org/en/country/yemen/overview Yemen has endured conflict since early 2015. Already the poorest country in the Middle East and North Africa region before the conflict broke out, the UN says Yemen is now suffering the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. Fighting has devastated the country’s economy, destroyed critical infrastructure, and led to food insecurity verging on famine. I think those who made Yemen a poor country are the officials and rulers of the country who think only of themselves rather than taking into account the rights of the people and the country that takes care of themselves, not because of their ignorance or lack of thinking but on the contrary, they are able to change and develop Yemen because the Yemeni people have Ambitions and intelligent minds. What if they have services in schools and their interests in future education. Thus Yemen eliminates the crisis caused by some people because of their personal interests
https://www.unrefugees.org/emergencies/yemen/ The humanitarian crisis in Yemen remains the worst in the world. Nearly four years of conflict has forced more than 4.3 million people to leave their homes, and an estimated 80 percent of the population – 24 million people – are in dire need of humanitarian assistance. I think that the cause of the crisis in Yemen because of the war and some of the people exploit the conditions of the war in the failure to provide daily needs of food, gas or oil and they form the crisis instead of cooperation to eliminate the crisis and because of the Houthis looting of state property and treasury.

A dive into the world of 3D printed ghost guns

The 3D-printed firearm debate is quick paced and rapidly evolving. As the name suggests, 3D weapons are firearms made utilizing a 3D printer and plans made on a PC or downloaded on the web. The collected firearms are principally made of plastic yet at the same time equipped for shooting standard handgun adjusts. One of the plastic firearms requires a nail to fill in as a discharging pin and a six-ounce bit of steel to trigger metal indicators, whose sole reason for existing is to keep the weapon from crossing paths with the US Undetectable Firearms Act, which requires guns can be spotted by a metal identifier. The weapons don’t have sequential numbers – making them, in every way that really matters, “apparition firearms.” Besides that, individuals don’t need to experience a record verification to get one, similar to they’d need to purchase a business gun. Specialists are additionally worried that lawbreakers could crush proof since plastic is simpler to obliterate than metal. “3D-printed weapons speak to one component of a bigger issue of do-it-without anyone else’s help hand crafted guns which is an expanding risk to open wellbeing,” said Kristen Rand, administrative executive of the firearm control promotion association Violence Policy Center, in an email proclamation. “It is significant that policymakers demonstration presently to address this expanding danger before it is past the point of no return.” Eight US state lawyers general, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Maryland, New York and the District of Columbia, have recorded a claim to hinder the dissemination of 3D-printed firearm plans online because of a State Department settlement with the weapon Wilson and his organization Defense Distributed. “This is a fast approaching danger to open security and abuses the law,” Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey said in a discharge. “We have an obligation to guarantee that these documents are not made effectively accessible to the general population.” The states’ protest requests that the court announce the general population arrival of Wilson’s 3D-printed weapon plans is unlawful and forbid anybody from discharging the structures once the directive is set up.

In 500 years….

In my thought, I think that the world will be very different 500 years from now. The world will probably have advanced electronic , such as more advanced phones and better ways to travel. Also it’ll be different because it’ll be more technology. Like better computer , flying cars , robots ,and  smart-cards.It’ll also be global warming. According to Quora.com it say “the increase in temperature will be higher than expected due to Global Warming.” and that solar caps start melting very fast. The ozone layer will be destroyed from the atmosphere layer. Drones will be very advanced for military and home purpose. There will be wildfires in the forest due to the hot climate. There will be increased air pollution , land pollution , and water pollution. People who can afford to will move to other planets for survival.

Therefore, the world in 500 years will be much better and also it’ll be bad due to different climate change. The world would be better because it’ll be better technology , electronics , advanced drones for military and homes. The world would be bad because large buildings will be constructed  in developed cities by cutting down trees. They start growing trees inside the building for the landscape and large trees will not found in cities. which leads to global warming because people cutting all the trees down. It also bad because new  types of viruses and diseases will be spread all over the world. And scientists will be busy finding cures for the newly born diseases.
