In the article, “CAREERS: Retail” (btw) I learned that if you like to hang out and shop a career that would stand out is retail. If you choose to go into retail there is no formal experience needed all you need is to land your first retail job. The retail industry has a very wide range of jobs that can make it easy but confusing. Some examples to illustrate their situation are 4.8 million of these jobs in 2016, with predicted job growth of 2 percent per year between 2016 and 2026 which is slower than average. The median 2018 pay for a retail sales position was $24,340 per year.
I think retailing for a career can be a good experience and opportunity for people. It won’t be hard to get into and the job can involve interaction with people so your social skills will continue to grow. However, you have to keep in mind that with these jobs you may not be permitted to travel or take time off during holidays.
Would you consider Retail for your future career?
