This article here talks about how it is critical and essential to teach our children at a young age what Race is. By choosing to not educate our children in these topics, we are actively choosing to be ignorant. The article states that from an early age children already know that they have things that make them different from their peers. They are able to understand culture, religions and identities. Many use the excuse of children not being able to understand or retain this information which is false. By not teaching them that we are “all the same” We help them understand deeper complex problems like systemic racism, white privilege and much more.
