Becoming a father

Let’s start with the first item from the list: Becoming a father. As I start to compose my narrative, I’m asking myself questions such as, what was the moment when I knew I was going to be a father? What were the emotions I felt when I realized I was going to be a father? What advice did I get from family and friends? What impact has becoming a father had on my life?

So it has been a year and almost 6 months since I brought a beautiful baby girl into this world. It’s been a rollercoaster. Even before I found out I was going to be a father, things were kind of crazy in my life. The moment I knew I was going to become a father…honestly, I was so out of it and didn’t know what I was going to do with myself because I was still trying to figure my own things out to make sure I was good. Still, I was for sure happy because I’ve always wanted a little me running around. Although I am still very young, I’ve always wanted kids since I was younger. The emotions I felt when I realized I was going to be a father were very nervous and scared, just for the simple fact that I’m still young, and didn’t know how my family was going to take the news and react, but other than those emotions I was also very excited because I was bringing a whole human being in the world. Some advice I got from my family and friends was that I should take it slow and that everything will eventually fall right in place. An impact becoming a father has had on my life is realizing that there is much more to life than what I was into before. I was never the best-behaved child growing up: always in problems and always getting myself into stuff that I should have never gotten myself into. Becoming a father has made me into a much better man and making sure now I just do everything I need to to make sure my kid and I are great in the future.
