In the article, ¨Cars That Stop Drunk Driving?¨ by McGraw Hill we are informed of the upcoming technology being created to combat drunk driving. In the near future, it seems that there will be developed monitoring systems in cars. Although it is not currently clear which monitor system they will use, the end goal remains the same and will pull over any car that exhibits unusual behavior. In our present time, there are some automakers that have begun installing these types of devices.

Implementing technology like these in our vehicles is a great start in fighting against drunk driving. It goes without saying that drunk driving is a large issue in America. Not only that but the infrared cameras that monitor your behavior can work for things other than just drunk driving. It can detect swerving or drowsiness, aside from drunk driving, another life-threatening action to take is driving while sleep-deprived. Therefore we will be stopping both deprived and drunk driving, which will hopefully lessen the number of accidents as these cars with updated technology become accessible to all.

Do you think these anti-drunk driving technologies will be of any use? Should all vehicles be required to have these?
