In the article, “ Abortion Law and Policy,” I learned that people are against women receiving abortions. This situation has caused many policies and laws to be enforced in order to stop abortion from being accessed. It’s caused women to have difficulty accessing abortion in many countries due to the limitation on the access to a medical abortion. Title X policy restricts the federal funding that goes toward abortion. Some medical institutes aren’t even receiving funding from the government because the government doesn’t want women to be able to access an abortion. When Trump was in office he created a policy to enquire medical facilities aren’t receiving funding for abortion. In this situation, people and the government are restricting and limiting access to abortion so that women will not be able to access it if they need it.
I think what is happening with abortion is a huge crisis. It must be horrible for women who can’t access an abortion. The government is trying to fully make abortion inaccessible for women. Laws and policies are created so that medical abortions aren’t funded which further makes it hard for women to access an abortion in their countries. Here in the U.S. not many laws and policies have been created to restrict abortion.
As I continue to learn about abortion, I want to know what happens to the women who need an abortion but aren’t able to access one.
