In the article, “Are You Addicted to Your phone?” (Upfront, Bubar, 2018) many people, especially teens, are becoming more addicted to their phones. I learned that even people within the tech industry are saying that their products are too addictive now that people can’t even put it down. This is a growing health crisis among young people. This addiction is really bad, Americans check their phone every 12 minutes and in China 24 million people ages 6 to 29 are internet addicts. Many people are also getting more addicted to the apps on their phones everyday.

What are some ways in which we can get rid of this phone addiction?

This topic is a huge problem. It’s scary to see that many of us are really that addicted to our phones that we can’t even put it down for 10 minutes. I believe that we need to start getting rid of this habit and look into ways that we can get rid of this addiction. If we don’t start looking into ways to get rid of this addiction it will only keep getting worse by the day.

Dear Antonia

Your post was very interesting to read and the fact that Americans on average check their phones every 12 minutes is really crazy to me. I wonder if that is how it is for many other parts of the world as well.

A sentence you wrote that stood out to me was “If we don’t start looking into ways to get rid of this addiction it will only keep getting worse by the day” it’s true, we need to start changing our habits now or else nothing will change and it will affect us in the future. It’s sad how many people don’t realize it’s an addiction and that being on their phones for hours a day is normal to them. It is also crazy that no one really realized an issue was created, it just sort of happened, but once people realized it, it was already a huge problem.

Thank you for your writing. I think that it is very important that we continue to talk about this topic and find better ways to spend our time. There are so many other things out there to do we just have to try new things instead of staring at a screen for hours.

Dear Antonia,

I am impressed by your post, “Addicted to Our Phones,” because it is an issue that keeps on growing everyday and how negative the effects could be. It is impressive how many people are addicted but might not realize it. I think people should start to think about the negative effects that it has on us and try to find better ways to use our time.

One sentence you wrote that stands out to me is, “even people within the tech industry are saying that their products are too addictive now that people can’t even put it down.” I think that this is important because the industries see what is happening and how it is affecting the people but they don’t really do anything about it.

Thank you for writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because I really liked how you explained that being addicted to your phone is a bad thing.

Dear Antonia,

Your post  “Addicted to our phones”  is very appealing to me because you make a lot of good points surrounding this topic on how it has negatively affected people.  Technology has been advancing for many years which has both positively and negatively affected people, mostly the new generation.  It has become so much of an issue that people aren’t even having enough sleep.  I do believe that parents should limit the amount of time their kids being on these cell phones as it causes many bad things to their bodies physically and mentally.

One thing you said in your post that was very appealing to me was, “ I believe that we need to start getting rid of this habit and look into ways that we can get rid of this addiction.” I agree with you on this because people, in general, are so addicted to their cell phones that they spend less time with their family and also don’t communicate with each other in person anymore.

Thank you for talking about this topic as it’s one of the most important topics to talk about in this day and age.  As it’s caused people to not be as social in person anymore.

Dear Antonia, I am very intrigued by your post “Addicted to our phones” because as much as I wanna say I’m not as addicted, the truth is we all kinda are. i believe that we should limit ourselves even though it may seem impossible for some.

One sentence that stood out to me that you wrote was”in China 24 million people ages 6 to 29 are internet addicts”. That high of a number is very saddening because people are just wasting their time looking at a screen when in reality they can be doing so much more. People need to limit themselves and actually take advantage of what there is to offer.

Thank you for writing, I look forward to hearing about what you have to write about next because this post was truly a really good work, I understood it very easily.

Dear Antonia,

I am interested by your post “Addicted to our phone” because the statistics are unexpected and intriguing. I think that people should try to be less addicted to their phones and should create habits that help them put down their phone more.

One sentence you wrote that stands out to me is, “If we don’t start looking into ways to get rid of this addiction it will only keep getting worse by the day.” I think this is important to keep in mind because people need to be aware than they’re addicted to their phones. People need to realize that this habit of checking your phone is unhealthy.

Thanks for writing, I’m interested to see what you’ll write next because you addressed the issue and explained that being addicted to your phone is bad. Let’s see what you have to teach us about next.

Dear Antonia

I am shocked by your post “Addicted to Our Phones” because people really don’t know how much people are using their phones daily. People are starting to get addicted at a very young age which is unhealthy.

One sentence that stands out to me is “Americans check their phone every 12 minutes and in China 24 million people ages 6 to 29 are internet addicts.” I think this is disgraceful because the internet is slowly rotting our minds.

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next because you put in a lot of work into this and make it interesting.

Dear Antonia,

In your post, “Are You Addicted To Your Phone?” is an amazing and relevant issue that is really common nowadays. It’s really devastating to see that many of us can’t live without any of our cell phones and for everything we have to check and be really dependent on it.

One sentence that stood out to me is when you said, “It’s scary to see that many of us are really addicted to our phones that can’t even put it down for 10 minutes.” Even then it is impossible sometimes because in today’s generation we need technology for almost everything. If devices wouldn’t be as addicting I feel like you would definitely see many people socialize more and be more committed to certain things.

Thank you for your writing, I look forward to your next posts!

Hey Antonia!

The text you talking about, “Are You Addicted to Your phone?” is a really great debate topic! The stats you’re talking about, “Americans check their phone every 12 minutes and in China 24 million people ages 6 to 29 are internet addicts.” was really cool to find out.

I’ve never known that but in my own personal life. I know I can say Im not addicted to my phone but I totally agree that there are many people addicted to their devices. I see it every day in my school, some students have to constantly have them in their hands or on them. Yet again devices are needed for so mush today, like look at us and type our posts and comments on this website.

I hope to see you write more!

This issue is so prominent in today’s world and one of the biggest causes of this is the way society has developed over time. We have become totally dependent on our phones to the extent it becomes almost impossible to live without one. It’s honestly really sad. The source I’m attaching goes over what phone addiction is and its various negative effects. It’s very informative, so I recommend it!

This issue is very common and predominant, especially in our generation. I believe that this is a very serious topic that has a lot of information and there are a lot more articles that you could find information on. You could especially focus more on why are our generations the most addicted to our phones. I recommend you the article “Are smartphones destroying a generation?” which will give you a lot more facts and examples of how are we becoming more addicted to our phones and the effects of this on the youth”

I agree, this problem is gripping the attention of our youth and dangerously effecting them. I really enjoy how you looked at the topic worldwide and said that if we don’t find an effective solution to weaning the people off of their phones we could be at the point of no return. I suggest you read this!

I find it interesting that you put the statistic of looking at our phones every 12 minutes and how you say this needs to change. I think you should try to explain ways we can change this, here’s a source to help:

I like how you talk about how this is not only an issue in the U.S. but an issue worldwide. It is a common issue and one that needs to be dealt with soon, if not now. This addiction is currently plaguing society, which is something that you touched on. I suggest that you read this article if you have not already. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6449671/
