In the article, “Americans’ views on whether, and in what circumstances, abortion should be legal” ( Pew Research Center 2022) I learned that there continues to be a debate on whether abortion should be illegal or legal. This situation has led people to base the banning of abortion based on their beliefs. Some believe that abortion should be restricted while others believe that abortion shouldn’t. This debate about abortion has not settled or fixed any situation that happens to deal with abortion. Based on certain surveys that have taken some have voted for abortion to be legal rather than illegal. Adults are most likely to not support abortion while teenagers are more supportive of abortion. This debate on whether abortion should be illegal or legal varies on some religious beliefs or age ranges.
I think what is happening with abortion is a serious situation. It must be horrible for the women who need an abortion but can’t access it due to laws. The debate on access to abortion or not has been long debated without a solution in some cases. Luckily in the U.S. they still ensure access to an abortion.
As I continue learning abortion I want to know why it is such a big deal. Why can’t people just worry about their own thoughts?
