Abortion has been a huge controversial topic that’s been brought up in politics regarding women’s rights and their rights over their bodies. Leftists/feminists repeat the phrase “My body my choice” for abortion, but that is just not the case. The baby is not a part of the woman’s body. It is a seperate being. A woman does not have four arms, four legs, four eyes, two heads, or 20 fingers and toes. I am pro-life, and I do not support the act of abortion on a young baby because of your own personal inconvenience. What about victims of rape you may ask? Key words. What. If. Did you know that less than 0.5% of abortions performed are from rape victims according to Abort73.com. Noone gets a right to choose whether or not something gets to live or die based on your own convenience. That is pure evil. If that young baby is born, outside the womb and you stuck a knife through its chest, you would be charged with first degree murder. You kill it in a womb you call it a human right. It’s not a human right because that is a human being, and it does NOT have any rights since you decided its rights are less important than your own. Life begins at conception. Another thing to take into account is that the fetus can feel pain during the abortion procedure. According to Maureen Condic, Associate Professor of Neurobiology and Anatomy and Adjunct Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine, states that the most primitive response to pain is the spinal reflex. There is a universal agreement that pain is detected by the fetus during the first trimester according to Kanwaljee J. S. Anand, MBBS, professor of pediatrics, anesthesiology, and neurobiology at the University of Tennessee health science center. Women should not be able to use abortion as a form of contraception. It’s immoral to kill an unborn child based on your own personal convenience. The Guttmacher Institute reported that 45% of all women having abortions every year have had at least on abortion previously, meanwhile 8.6% of abortions reported to the CDC in 2014 were undergone by women who have had three or more abortions previously. If you do not want a baby, don’t have sex unless you are ready to have a baby, or use a condom. If a fetus were to be found on Mars, it would be considered life. Why wouldn’t it be considered life if it is in a womb? There are exceptions to abortions in which I understand. Such as in cases of rape or incest, but these make up a small percentage of abortions performed. In conclusion, I do not support abortion, with a few exceptions.
