In the article, “Abortion” (Gale 2022) I learned that the reproductive rights of women are under attack. Since 1973 pro-lifers, who are mainly made up of conservatives, have sought to overturn Roe. v Wade. Pro-lifers have created Anti- Abortion Activist organizations in order for their cause to be reached. Some anti-abortion activist organizations have gone as far as adopting extremist tactics to promote their cause. Abortion clinic bombings and violent harassment of healthcare providers by members of these organizations are just two examples of domestic terrorism occurrences in which Anti- Abortion groups have participated in. In several cases, doctors who provide abortions have been murdered by pro-life activists. Six members that make up some of these Anti- Abortion organizations have climbed their way into becoming Supreme Court justices. In light of the potential overturning of the Roe v. Wade ruling due to the concentration of power on the nation’s highest court, concerns that the court will sustain state limitations on abortions have been raised
In my opinion, what a woman does with their body should be respected. Your body, your choice. That is just my opinion. There are other people who don’t agree with my stance, and that is okay. I believe that everyone is entitled to have their own opinions. What is happening is not okay though. The actions that pro-lifers are taking are very extreme. Pro-lifers claim to care so much about conserving life, yet are killing people who don’t agree with their beliefs. How does that make sense?
As I continue to learn about abortion, I would like to know about the legal aspects of abortion.
