In the article, The health and Mood-Boosting Benefits of Pets (upfront, Robinson, Lundgren, and Segal), on 12/5, 2022, I learned that pets can be very helpful. According to health and benefits of pets, I read how pets come with some powerful health benefits, caring for a dog, cat, or another animal can help relieve depression and anxiety, lower stress, and improve heart health however many of us remain unaware of the physical and mental health benefits that can also accompany the pleasure of snuggling up to a flurry friend. Pets are very helpful because they can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, ease loneliness, encourage exercise and playfulness, and even improve cardiovascular health. When caring for a pet can better yourself to be more responsible being more secure and active.
Pets can help change healthy lifestyle changes by increasing exercise, taking a dog for a walk, hiking, etc making yourself and your pet more fit and healthy. Providing companionship helps prevent illness and even adds years to life by caring for an animal that makes you feel needed and wanted. Also reducing anxiety, the companionship of an animal offers comfort, helps ease anxiety, and builds self-confidence for people anxious about going out into the world.
Do you agree that pets are beneficial?
Dear Jennifer:
I am moved by your post, “A benefit of a Pet” because it reinstates my opinion on why I feel my dog is very important in my life. I’ve had struggles with anxiety and such and I always felt that my dog made a huge impact on my life and mental health. One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: “According to health and benefits of pets, I read how pets come with some powerful health benefits, caring for a dog, cat, or another animal can help relieve depression and anxiety, lower stress, and improve heart health…” I think this is important because I think it would be an influence on many people’s lives so that maybe more people would consider getting a pet. When I look at the bigger picture, it would not only help humans with their well being but it would help give more animals homes. Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because I feel very connected to your thoughts. By this I mean that I agree with your statements because I feel as if I’ve had these things happen to me. Your analysis would bring me back to see how you write about different topics you feel are important.

Dear Jennifer:
I am very interested in your post “A benefit of a pet” because it is a concept that many people don’t go into too much detail about. For instance, you explained how people gain a healthier lifestyle which I find amazing. A sentence that stood out to me is “Builds self-confidence for people anxious about going out into the world”. This is because I do think that this holds some truth to it since people will be more willing to go outside to walk their pets. It also just gives them a sense of security out in the world. Thank you for writing this it was very nice and interesting to me. I hope you continue to inform others since it is a very nice thing to share with others. I will definitely come back to read your posts since they are topics that interest me and are genuinely helpful to know.

This is a very interesting topic. Many people have pets and may not know the benefits that pets can provide. This topic is very informative; I know how pets can improve my mental health. I agree that pets are beneficial. This is because they can provide happiness and lower anxiety levels. This provides a chance for people who do not have pets, to maybe consider getting one to see how it can improve their lifestyle.
As someone who doesn’t have any pets, I absolutely agree that the benefits are there. If I could have a pet I would jump on the opportunity. I think the main thing that makes pets so beneficial for a person is the constant companionship that they provide a person.
Interesting post, Jennifer. I personally know that having pets benefits me immeasurably for basically all of the same reasons you stated. Especially when you said having a pet can “encourage exercise and playfulness,” I really resonated with that, because I saw my house become a much more playful environment when my dog always wanted to play tug-of-war with his toys and jump around. Compared to the world outside of home sometimes being so stressful, it’s so nice having a playful and innocent environment at home. I’m sure there are very many accounts of people loving their dogs because of the exact same reasons you stated. A great example I could think on the top of my head was when my class went crazy during this one point on a book called Old Yeller by Fred Gipson. Thanks for writing this thoughtful post. I’d love to hear your personal stories about your encounters with pets that gave you all these benefits.
I thought this was a very interesting topic, Jennifer! I also wondered how having pets can be a positive thing and what the benefits are. I also found it interesting how having pets can increase exercise, leading to a healthy lifestyle. I agree that pets are beneficial and having a pet can make a positive change in someone’s life!

Dear Jennifer,
I am interested in your post, “A benefit of a pet” due to the fact that I agree that pets benefit you emotionally, and mentally. Many people may struggle in life for example they could be having a bad day in some cases, a pet can be a support buddy. Pets always brighten up your day and mood. You stated how pets can even motivate you to be active, such as going on a walk or run with them. Pets allow you to feel less lonely and reduce anxiety.
A sentence that stood out to me was “However many of us remain unaware of the physical and mental health benefits that can also accompany the pleasure of snuggling up to a flurry friend.” This sentence stood out to me because many people believe having a pet is pointless and a handful of a job with cleaning after them. But in reality, having a pet benefits you so much more. Pets are really loving and protective over their owners. Pets have many benefits such as serves dogs. Pets don’t just benefit you mentally, physically, or emotionally they love you.
Thank you for your writing. I look forward to what you write next time because I love the way you see and explain the benefits of having a support buddy who you care for but who also cares for you as well.
Dear Jennifer,
I am intrigued with your post, “A benefit of a pet” because I do agree with the benefits that pets can bring to people. I believe having a pet come with a lot of benefits because like you have mentioned they can help with mental health issues as well as allowing you to have more responsibility. You will have more responsibility because you have to take good care of your pet like take them on walks, groom them, etc.
One sentence that stood out to me was, “According to health and benefits of pets, I read how pets come with some powerful health benefits, caring for a dog, cat, or another animal can help relieve depression and anxiety, lower stress, and improve heart health however many of us remain unaware of the physical and mental health benefits that can also accompany the pleasure of snuggling up to a flurry friend.” This essentially stood out to me because its nice to know how pets can really benefit majority of humans with health issues. Well at least it can benefit those who enjoy the company of ones because there are people who don’t enjoy having pets.
Thank you for writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next because I would like to know more about the benefits any kind of pet could bring to someone.

Dear Jennifer,
I am intrigued with your post,”A benefit of a pet” because I can agree with the benefits that you mentioned; pets are a good resource when it comes to combating mental health issues such as depression and anxiety. Having a pet as a companion is something that I recommend to others because of these factors, although for others pets aren’t the ideal substitute for a myriad of reasons. whether it be because they are incapable of caring for the pet, because they are allergic, would cause damage to property, or simply because others find animals to be pests.
One sentence that you wrote that stands out to me is,”Pets can help change healthy lifestyle changes by increasing exercise, taking a dog for a walk, hiking, etc making yourself and your pet more fit and healthy.” I think this is unexpected because before reading your post, I was only aware of the mental health benefits that having a pet can bring, not the health benefits. I never thought of it that way.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because I learned something new with your mention of the health benefits a pet can bring. I would also want to read more into articles surrounding the topic of animals/ pets because It would help me understand why people would want to have a pet. I also liked how you used reader connection by asking a direct question at the end of your post.

Dear Jennifer
I am interested in your postm ” A benefit of a Pet” because I agree with this post, animals are amazing and can benefit us people a lot. I believe that having an animal can not only help you with personal things but can also help with learning responsibility. Not everyone likes a pet, makes me wonder how people live without pets?
One sentence that stood out to me was “According to health and benefits of pets, I read how pets come with some powerful health benefits, caring for a dog, cat, or another animal can help relieve depression and anxiety, lower stress, and improve heart health however many of us remain unaware of the physical and mental health benefits that can also accompany the pleasure of snuggling up to a flurry friend”. This stood out to me because everything that is stated is fairly accurate usually depending on the type of animal and how you treat your animal . All the the things listed above I feel animals learn from their owners by like I said how they are treated and raised.
Thank you for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because any topic that talks about animals is interesting to me, and not only that but I love things that I can re,are to as well.

Dear Jennifer
I am Intrigued by your post, “A benefit of a pet,” because I agree with your standpoint that they are very beneficial in many ways. For example By taking your dog on a walk, not only are you giving them their cardio but you are also working out in the process. Along with helping be more active, dogs provide companionship to combat depression or loneliness.
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: “Also reducing anxiety, the companionship of an animal offers comfort, helps ease anxiety, and builds self-confidence for people anxious about going out into the world.” I think this is significant because while going out to walk your dog you can bump into people and make new friends. Spending time outside is also good for your mental health and illuminates that sense of anxiety. Your best friend will be by your side to comfort you on the walk and you have the opportunity to make new friends or say hello or smile at people passing by outside.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next because you share good points on how dogs can benefit us. Not only dogs but any pet can be a bird, lizard, cow, or butterfly. Any animal you love and have by your side will provide that sense of companionship so you will never feel alone.

Dear Jennifer,
Absolutely! Pets are incredibly beneficial for our physical and mental well-being they help us a lot when we need the support and cuddles. They can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, while also providing companionship and comfort when you need it the most . Taking care of a pet can make us more responsible and active, leading to healthier lifestyle changes. Plus, who can resist the joy and love they bring into our lives?
Dear Jennifer,
I feel more open minded by your post, “A benefit of a pet,” because I never knew how much a pet can affect you physical and mental health. Pets can help with things such as relieving depression, anxiety, lower stress, and improve heart health. Sometimes the simplest things can have the biggest impact on our lives.
One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: “many of us remain unaware of the physical and mental health benefits……, ease loneliness, encourage excercise and playfulness, and even improve cardiovascular health”.The first quote shows how people don’t see the real reason behind a pet and the benefits of having them with you. The rest of the quote shows the mental part and phyical part of pets benefiting us. The loneliness and encouraging mentioned ties in with the mental side, having company that’s not a human can also be very comforting and also having pets to go motivate you to do active things such as walks. The physical part is the playfulness which is actually going out and doing something active with your pets like runs and hikes. Having pets keep you more active can help improve our cardiovascular health.
Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because I like this topics about animals connecting and improving human health. This helps readers see the bigger picture of smiple things we don’t question often. I would like for you to write more about the benfits of animals/pets.
