Gentrifiction is trend in which low income area’s see a surge indusrty or population due to an influx of investment in the area. This can make incredibly difficult for the people previously living in the area to stay there. Cities seeing the most of this include Washington D.C. and Portland. 111,000 african americans have been displaced due gentrification. Low income areas are desireable for the inexpensive property and are often seen as being revilatlized by the new buisnesses. It’s a process that likely won’t stop in the future as our population increases and the lack of space increases with it.
