Sex trafficking has become very prevelent recently. Some people ask exactly what sex trafficking is. Sex Trafficking is when someone uses force or fraud to cause a commerical sex act with someone. “A Commercial Sex Act includes prostitution, pornography, and sexual preformance done in exchange for any item of value, such as money, drugs, shelter, food, or clothes.” It thrives because of its demand and the buyers fuels that markets.

Sex trafficking is defined as the recruitment, harboring, or transportation of people who are forced to preform a commerical sexual act. 99% of the people being sex trafficked are women and girls and there are more than 4 billion cases globally. USA today also had a statistic that talks about how 1 in 7 reported run aways is likely a victim of sex trafficking. This is very scary because there’s so much of it happening but you never know what could happen. There are ways to keep females more safe like don’t let them walk to there car alone or make sure they get inside their house.
