once a raindrop fell
on my tall navy rain boots and I watched
the puddles form and I jumped
in joy from puddle to puddle and I took
my brother’s hand and ran toward home
to show mom all the fun we had and she laughed
so hard seeing we were all wet and removed
our raincoats and rainboots and prepared a warm bath
for each of us so we would not get sick and after
it began to rain and we could not wait to jump in the puddles once again
