Failing isn’t a option

               By: Yasmin Moreno

I want this to poem to show how I struggle to write poems but never gave up just how Romeo and Juliet struggled to be with each other

Attempt 1

Even though

There are barriers between us

I try to stay away

But the wind is pushing

Me towards you

Promise me that

You won’t leave me

Without your love

I will give you

My heart

But

You got to promise me

That

You will

Love me way pass

Forever

Attempt 2

Hours

Minutes

Seconds

Someone is dragging

There feet

Leaving footprints

That stain the dirt

With uncarved scars

My mind over flowed

With questions

Yet no answers

There skin shedding pain

1st teardrop

Leaving my country

2nd teardrop

Thinking no one will love me

3rd teardrop

Not knowing if I will survive

Attempt 3

Beyond the boundaries of our restricted life

Our love and happiness

Is near in our

Heart

Or even

miles away

It doesn’t matter

What we share is something

That

Can’t be broken

To the point where we don’t even have to communicate

Because our hearts will be

Doing the talking for us

I want to be so close to

You that our lips can dance

In perfect harmony

As if we’ve

Rehearses a thousand times before

Our hands holding so tight

My heart doesn’t know

How to beat anymore

Our souls get tangled

Because everytime we gaze into each others eyes

It feels like we are floating on a cloud

Beyond the boundaries of our restricted life

Attempt 4

A few fails leads to success

These poems are amazing! I love the way you reacted them back to Romeo and Juliet’s love story. Here is a link to some more poetry that relates to Romeo and Juliet. http://www.beltwaypoetry.com/beete-shakespeare/

This was a very interesting piece to read. I loved how the wording is laid out and presented. Good job!
