2017 has been one of the warmest years in recorded history. This has detrimental consequences on the polar ice caps. Over the past two hundred years, industrialization has reached exponential levels in comparison to the time before the industrial revolution. With cars, boats, factories etc. our Earth is feeling the blow from carbon emissions. The carbon emitted by fossil fuels around the world escapes the atmosphere very slowly. This causes greenhouse gases which are now affecting our polar ice caps.

National Geographic’s “Effect of Global Warming” conjects “The planet is warming, from North Pole to South Pole Much of what our ice caps were have now melted and receded back exponentially. Climate change has been called the major threat of the 21st century. Life on the polar ends of the earth is thinning rapidly. Polar bears are dying off in increasing numbers making them one of Earths animals soon to be extinct. However many organizations are working to help preserve polar bear lives. With deforestation and increasing greenhouse gas production and emission, our home here on Earth could be coming to a close.

Live Science (https://www.livescience.com/topics/global-warming) suggests that “The increased volumes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases released by the burning of fossil fuels, land clearing, agriculture, and other human activities, are believed to be the primary sources of the global warming that has occurred over the past 50 years.” This means the increase of mass production, use of automobiles and deforestation has detrimentally impacted our world in the form of melting ice caps which could drastically affect the planet.

Andrew, I found your topic very interesting because I am very concerned about the effects of climate change. I think including solutions to your topic would help your argument significantly. This resource might be really beneficial to you. https://climate.nasa.gov/solutions/resources/
