As far back as I can recall, I remember enthusiastically laying in bed alone watching documentaries about the past. In retrospect, it truly is a weird image for a young, hyperactive child to be instantly calmed by and immersed in a television series focusing on the mayan civilization. This interest in learning about the past carried over into my academic life in school. It was no surprise to me that I performed significantly better in certain courses, such as history, as compared to science and mathematics where I would usually fail most of the time. As a young kid , I attributed this passion of my learning as a result of my curious nature. I found most things interesting, even learning about hitler and the amount of hatred he expressed throughout his life. Now that I am a bit older, I can confidently say that the passion for the past is largely based on my need to understand the many perspectives that exist in the world. It is undeniable on my part that if it wasn’t for this passion that I hold for history and all its lessons, I would not have been as successful, in my learning as I am today.
Slowly, I’ve learned to realize that not only should history be a passion for my learning, but that I should strive to carry my passions for learning in other areas such as science. I’ve always wanted to know, how we got here?, why are we here?, and many other questions about certain things in life. I want to know what we’re made up of and purpose our lives have. In the end, I always want to be learning new things that are going to expand my ever growing knowledge to its maximum potential. Video games are something that have been apart of my life ever since I can remember, and they’ve actually allowed me to push myself to the limit, and master many things i’ve seen many other struggle with. Maximum potential is my number one priority.Tags: Digital Storytelling happiness Life Academy of Health and Bioscience memoirPiece stress
