To begin, have you ever heard about the Nazi research? Well if not let me tell you a little about it. But the question that I would be talking about is are the data that is from the Nazi medical experiments ethical? Should we use the data from the people that were experimented on? The Nazi research was Jewish people that were victims of the Nazi medical experiments. They were identified by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference). These testimonies and those of the other identified individuals will be turned over to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Victims listed wanted their experiences to become part of the historical record, but they wanted their name to be private because of the sensitivity of the material. In my opinion I believe it’s not ethical because of the pain and the memories of the victims had to face.
In a article I read about many personal statements from victims of medical experiments talked about their experiences and wants to become part of the historical record. I read that many of these victims suffer though many pain because of the experiments that the Nazi did on them which left them suffering. One of the victims the experiment was done in Auschwitz. The experiment was done on their uterus. She was given shots in her uterus and as a result of that shifted from severe pain fo year and a half. She after got into a hospital and was examined that her uterus has become a 4 year old child and that her ovaries has shrunk. The victims that were tested were all Jewish the people that were testing on them had no respect for the person because they were able to feel the brutal experiments they did to them. They would leave them their and let them go through all the pain. The victims wanted what they had to go through for people to know their story. But it is still not ethical to use data from the the Nazi experiment because many people die from the experiments that they did and it wasn’t’ fair to use the data without their consent. In a different source experiments were on twins in 1943 – 1945. The experiment was run by Dr. Jose. He was able to get funding for the experiment. I believe he wasn’t doing any good for anything because he put the twins in desperate pain. He did blood transfusion from one twin to another which he wasn’t trying to minimize harm he was causing more harm for the twins. But the benefit for his experiment was for the genetic. Image doing blood transfusion from you to one of your siblings that isn’t very ethical. The twins wasn’t able to choose if they were ok with Dr. Jose doing the experiment on both of them but he still did it. Which there wasn’t any respect for the person. It’s still not ethical to use these data from the Nazi experiment because these data was all very cruel. Twins was being suffered and not being able to say anything about it. Additionally, the Nazi scientists would use random people to test human reaction. Which they would take random people on the street and test them they wouldn’t be able to refuse it. Which I believe this wasn’t fair because people should have a saying if they wanted to be in the experiment but they weren’t. It wasn’t equal because many people would die from these experiments and their lives would be gone. The Nazi was able to help parents make their children how they wanted to be. Which I believe that it’s kinda weird that they were able to think of something like that. But I believe that can’t happen because your child is who it is. It comes out in a way and that’s your child you can’t create how you want it to be.
Lasty, so is it really ethical using all these data from the Nazi experiment? It’s wrong to because people suffer and victims didn’t have the power to stop what they were doing. But also other people think that we should use the Nazi experiment data because it helps us understand that this shouldn’t have again and people shouldn’t be going through all these experiments anymore. These experiments killed many people but when reading all some of the experiments that they would do to the victims are very heartbreaking and no one wants to be put in that situation. But the Nazi research was banned by EPA. Which all these experiments had to stop. But the victims that have died from the research that was done on them has been remembered. This would be a learning and shouldn’t have again and we shouldn’t let people suffer through that much of pain just for the research. We should care and respect for the person to be fair.
