The Way I  Am

By Kevin M

I have always been honest

No matter how harsh It is or how nice It can be

Some People tend to not understand who I am

It’s like they are worried more about me than themselves

Call that shit nosy and soft

So when something bad or shocking happens, not to me

They are always asking me the same question over and over again

“ Why are you acting like you don’t care!!!???”

The response I give

“Im not acting.”

The attitude and expression they give to me afterwards

Automatically

Shows how much they want me to care and change

I let them know that I’m not changing until I decide to change

And Im not caring until, It’s something important

But people already have the idea that

Me changing and caring might never happen or might take a while

Sensitive ones stop talking to me

And I can give a fuck less haha

They pass by and say nothing

I pass by and smile because Im unbothered

“Oh they called you a “bitch” or an “asshole”

You’re gonna get sad and mad over that?

Man, man the fuck up and stop being soft

You letting these things get to you too soon

You’re giving them power over you.”

So Sensitive Ones catch on to who I am

Who I always been

While I bench press and blood is flowing through my head

I think to myself they want me to be someone else

Someone like them

This means you question who I am

From day in to day out

I can tell from your feelings

The gestures

I deal with that by being honest and upfront

Admitting to who I really am because

I would much rather be hated for who I am,

Then loved for something that I am not.

I’m not going to apologize for not being

Who you want me to be

You accept me for who I am or else fuck you

I don’t need you

Just like that

But, I’m not that Kev you want me to be, good old friend

I am whatever I am set to be

I don’t know that’s just the way I am.
