I see cars as a big part of my life.

Not all types of cars though.

Muscle cars like Camaros, Mustangs, Hellcats, GTO’s, and Trans Am’s.

I been around muscle cars all my life.

My cousin used to take me out in his camaro most of the time.

Attended a couple of sideshows.

Did a couple donuts.

Raced a couple of friends.

Overall had fun.

I grew older.

Attended more sideshows and made more friends.

I started to like taking pictures at sideshows of different cars.

I looked into photography.

Bought my first camera and attended my first sideshow with it.

I thought I was the best photographer at the moment.

Started to take pictures of some friends cars.

Friends that turned into brothers.

Until I had enough money to get a new camera.

I picked up a brand new camera from Best Buy.

It was a very exciting moment.

After the new camera I chased my photography dream

of being the best automotive photographer.

After years and years of getting different and better cameras everytime,

I finally stuck to one camera.

The Canon 6D.

My dream camera since I wanted to start photography.

My dream of owning that camera finally came true.

To this day im still friends with the friends i’ve met through the Oakland Car Scene from when I had my first ever camera.

To this day i’m still taking pictures of muscle cars in the Oakland Car Scene.

I won’t say i’m the best camera person in the car scene but I feel like i’m up there.

Photography and muscle cars have changed my life into the person that I am today.

From not knowing anybody from the Oakland Car Scene,

To knowing mostly everyone from the Oakland Car Scene,

I must say, i’ve came a long way.

    Luis,
I really like your memoir it really shows how who you really are and how you got to this point. The part that really stool out to me is “ I won’t say i’m the best camera person in the car scene but I feel like i’m up there.” This stood out to me because you know your not the best yet but your confident about yourself that you are. I hope to see more of your writing because it really shows who you really are.
    Thank you.

Your memoir is strong and explains who you are today. This piece is a good explaination of how far you have came because of muscle cars and photogrpahy. This memoir helped you realize that photography is a big part in your life and might always be.
