Winter Poem

one by one the red orange

and green leaves fell to the ground

softly and kindly as if they all together

a blanket covering mother earth before

the harsh winds and snows come cover

her and her trees and her bushes and her

grasses and her leaves and her bees

solidifying all of them with brick ice

never to be seen again by life

until spring’s beginning
