I am from the camote
from the tamarindo and pan dulce
I am from a loud place
and never ending laughter
I am from a place where trees are scarce
whose branches try and reach out to you
I am from two different families
from Lorenzo and Delrosario
I am from the shouting and arguing
and from the partying
And from the laughter
I am from the ¨dale gracias a dios¨
I am from the spanish speaking people
and from the tamales and atole
from the deaths of the warriors
and from a dead language
I am from the tears falling whenever they left
I am from those moments
The dead warriors.
