Dear Leaders of America,

Hello, my name is Maria Barraza and I am a senior at Fremont High.

From researching Charlottesville, I have learned that hate can make a person do the unthinkable and act upon feelings rather than reason.

As a teenager, growing up in America has been tough due to the violence and racism causing separations among communities.

Awareness and resilience should be prioritized in order to try and prevent further violence.

Becoming aware of what is occurring will help people feel more confident and comfortable helping the community.

I wish that people in America became less ignorant and selfish in order to make it a safer environment.

Sincerely,Maria
