Many people argue about what kind of pet they want or they should have. Some people have cats, dogs, fish, pigs, etc. I think the best type of pet would be a dog. Any type of dog; if it’s a golden retriever, a husky, or a bulldog. Firstly, dogs are adorable and very playful. They are really cute and obviously are amazing to have. They can play with you for as long as they want. However if it’s time to sleep, they aren’t able to continue playing. If they are tired for some reason, they will still continue to play with their owners until they sleep. Any type of dog you get, they will be cute and playful.

Another reason dogs are the best pets is because they are very comforting, intelligent and loyal. They truly are “a man’s best friend”. So, lets say someone comes from work or school and they are very tired. As soon as you enter the house/room, they will run to the door. If you’re stressed or not feeling well they will always be right there on your side and comfort you. They are very loving and give you love in return for your love. You can hug them, pet them, play with them, and they would not mind any of that. They in fact want the owners to love them unconditionally. Also, they are very smart animals. They understand so many words/commands humans say, and listen to them. All dogs have these few special traits.

A third reason dogs are one of a kind is because they help improve a person’s mental and physical health. For example, children who grow up in homes with dogs are less likely to develop common allergies. Studies show that children who were exposed to furry pets, such as dogs, as kids are less than 50% as likely to develop any sort of allergies. Also, petting your dog can reduce stress. If someone really concentrates on the texture of their fur, the warmth they radiate, and their comforting deep breaths. When you connect with them, it actually reduces your stress. This is a very good reason for why a dog would be/is the best pet.

I agree with you 110% that dogs are the best kind of pet to have. I currently have five dogs in my household. They are always so energetic and happy. I almost never see them sad about something. If I am having a rough day and come home from school upset about something, I go strait to my room and lay down, and not even two minutes later all five of them will be on my bed with me, right up against me with their heads resting on my body so that they are staring at me, and they stay there until I feel better and get back up.I like how you included statistics on health and included you’re own personal opinions. It’s always great to include your opinion on something you feel strongly about.

    Dear Nyasa:

I am interested in your post, “Which type of pet is the best to have?,” because I myself have a dog. I agree with all of your points as well.

One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: “Another reason dogs are the best pets is because they are very comforting, intelligent and loyal.” I think this is true because my dog has all of those attributes.

Another sentence that I read was: “ Any type of dog you get, they will be cute and playful.” This stood out for me because this isn’t exactly true. Through some peoples eyes, not everything (every dog?) will be cute and playful.

I don’t really agree with you that all dogs are cute and playful. Some dogs may not be playful, like perhaps pitbull’s, and some dogs may not be cute, like the Griffon Bruxellois. One reason I say this is because through different eyes, the way one perceives something is different. Another reason I disagree with you is that dogs don’t always fix your problems like stress. They may sometimes agitate or annoy you, as I have learned from experience.

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because this topic fascinates me. Your writing style was also persuasive and intriguing.

    Dear Nyasa:

I am impressed by your post, “Which type of pet is the best to have?”, because I agree with you and some of the facts you stated were quite shocking. I’ve always wanted a dog but my parents always said no because I was and probably still am allergic to the fur of dogs.

One sentence you wrote that stands out for me is: “Studies show that children who were exposed to furry pets, such as dogs, as kids are less than 50% as likely to develop any sort of allergies.” I think this is shocking because people have always talked about how having a cat or dog causes allergies.

Another sentence that shocked me was: “Also, petting your dog can reduce stress.” This stood out for me because I thought that petting dogs would just be for satisfaction and to show affection.

I do agree with you that dogs would make the best pet. One reason I say this is because they are super adorable and playful. Another reason I say this is because they are loyal.

Thanks for your writing. I look forward to seeing what you write next, because your post has the perfect balance of subjective and objective ideas.

I completely agree with you that the best kind of pet is a dog because I have one my self and he is a really good friend and is also very playful like you said. when it said that dogs are always so happy and playful and never stop playing I would like to disagree, because first of all, all dogs require sleep, and secondly, some dogs are quite nasty and bark and bite all day. but overall I liked how you showed so much love for dogs and all of their amazement. I also liked how you included data about health and actual facts.
