Skip Schmiett, a commercial photographer, came into our class to teach us about portraiture. He told us about how he became a photographer: he was inspired during his trip across Europe. He emphasized the importance of good lighting in taking a good portrait. He showed us the main types of lighting and when to use them. He also demonstrated how using Photoshop can be used to create a more interesting image. He told us how the lighting techniques and other lessons can be used with people, as well as all other facets of photography.

I love this photograph! I wish I could have been there for that talk- sounds like he knew a lot about photography!
