Shells are just like us
They come in different shapes
They come in different sizes

Shells are just like us
They can be pretty but some are dangerous
They can be colorful or dull

Shells are just like us
Each of them are unique
Each of them is beautiful in its own way

Shells are just like us just
Some just want to escape the water
Some just want to be on land

Shells are just like us
They want to be picked up by someone
Who will treasure them forever

I love this poem! It’s got great rhythm and imagery. I’ve never thought of a shell like a human but, like your prom says, there are a lot. If you are really interested in shells you might like the book Lord of The Flies. The book is pretty dark and intense but there is an important focus on one shell. It also looks at social behaviors in a fictional story. I think you might like it.
