My unit 2 project is all about the Baccalaureate School for Global Education, or BSGE.  There are multiple webpages that are made up of HTML and CSS code.  On the pages, you could find information on the teachers, students, programs, and so much more.  For anyone who is thinking about coming to BSGE, this would be a great web page to check out to find out more about the school!

Here is a link to my web page:

To create my project, I made a design sketch to plan how the page would look like.  I ended up changing the design while working on my project, but this was the original appearance of the page.

Here is the design sketch:

I also created a project plan to follow in order to ensure that I would get the assignment done in time. Below is the original plan, meaning it was done before I added the additional pages to my website and before the deadline was extended.

Here is the project plan:

Tuesday        I will try to work on changing the look of my home project page.  By this day, I think I should be at least halfway done with the first page.
Wednesday  I would have hopefully finished my first page by now and started my second page. There should be at least some information on my second page.
Thursday I would have added a little bit more to my second page.  I probably wouldn’t have done much because I have orchestra on Thursdays.
Friday I would be at least halfway done with my second page.
Saturday I would be almost done or completely done with my second page and hopefully have     started my fourth page.  I might also start with my third page too, which is the interview of my sister.
Sunday I will try to interview my sister on her viewpoint of BSGE by this day.  Hopefully, I will have all of the information on the third page.  I should have also worked a little more on my fourth page.
Monday I should basically be done with my third page by now and halfway done with my fourth page.
Tuesday I should be done with my fourth page and started on my fifth page, hopefully halfway done.
Wednesday I should be done with my fifth page and almost done with my credits page.
Thursday I would hopefully be done with the credits page and would be debugging my page.  I       would check it over and submit it.
Friday I would be done with the project.

The website had to be completely made out of HTML and CSS code.  Below is the coding for my main project page.

Here is the HTML code:

<!DOCTYPE html>

<p id=”firstparagraph”> This is an informational web page that will allow you to see what goes on in BSGE, or Baccalaureate School For Global Education. Here, you will find what the teachers are like, how it is to be a high schooler in BSGE, what kind of clubs we have, and much more. In this page, you will find general information on the school and BSGE is a small school with a close community. There are eight periods in the day, each being 45 minutes. We have standard subjects such as math, English, and humanities, but we also have music, technology, and much more.</p>
<h2 id=”secondheading”> My School Review </h2>
<p id=”secondparagraph”>⚝ ⚝ ⚝ ⚝<br> If I were to give BSGE a review, I would give it four stars. It is a really great school academically, but it is quite small. Especially with the amount of students we have this year, it tends to get very crowded in the small hallways. Also, we don’t have a gym or auditorium, which can be annoying at times because we spend half of the gym period walking to the park. On the other hand, BSGE really mentally challenges you and is currently ranked as the 32nd best high school in the U.S. So I would give it a total of four stars based on the pros and cons of the school.</p>
<h2 id=”thirdheading”>Student Achievements </h2>
<p id=”thirdparagraph”> Throughout the years, BSGE has had some student achievements. For example, you can see many different trophies when you walk into the lobby of the school. They range from debate to math awards from competitions we have participated in. Also, 24 graduates of BSGE recieved the IB diploma in 2012, which is a good amount of students. </p>
<h2 id=”fourthheading”> Academic Policy </h2>
<p id=”fourthparagraph”>The school grades from 1-7, one being the worst and seven being the best. The teachers generally base your final grade on 60% major assignments, 30% minor assignments, and 10% participation. </p>
<h2 id=”fifthheading”>Community Service </h2>
<p id=”fifthparagraph”>By tenth grade, students are required to have at least 100 community service hours. <br> “Students are encouraged to make personal connections with their intellectual and social growth and what they can contribute to local and global communities. This Area of Interaction reaches far beyond the classroom, fostering an awareness of international social realities, reinforcing the importance of community as well as recognition and respect for human rights” (Community and Service) <br> Students are to get hours by helping out their community. Some ways to get hours include: <br> – Orchestra Club <br> – Helping Hands <br> – Volunteer Work <br> – Working at Parent Teacher Conferences </p>
<h2 id=”sixthheading”>Student Environment/Social Activities </h2>
<p id=”sixthparagraph”>The environment at BSGE is very friendly and welcoming. The students treat each other with kindness and can be silly with one another at times. Social activities include the dances we have and the sports games played by the different teams in BSGE (softball, soccer). </p>

<img src=”../images/bsge2.jpg” alt=”BSGE” id=”secondimage” style=”float:left;width:630px;height:456px;”/>

That was a little bit about my project and how I made it.  I hope you check it out if you are a student who wants to come to BSGE, or if you just want to learn more about the school.
