In the article, “Why Firearms are Effective for Self-Defense” I learned that it is better to have a firearm as you never know when you are going to need it, and it can save your life in a life-or-death situation. I think this article has a positive message about having a firearm in a life-or-death situation as according to the article it takes police officers 11 minutes to respond to a certain situation. Throughout reading the article I learned that it’s better to have a firearm as you never know when situations can get tough as well as it’s a big responsibility to own one.
I think that the article is trying to lead everyone in the right way. As everyone has a firearm would make the world a better place. This would mean a lower crime rate as criminals would be scared to do robberies knowing that everyone would have a firearm which would cause them to be scared of getting shot at.
As I continue to learn more about firearm violence, I want to know more about what are the boundaries of a response to self-defense.
